Water comprises most of our body. The average body loses about 10-15 glasses of water (about 3-4 liters) per day through respiration, sweat and excretion and even more so in our Thai climate. It’s very possible you’re not drinking enough!
What happens when we're not drinking enough water?
Dehydration can lead to dry skin, fast-skin aging, blood pressure changes, stress, headaches, dizziness, bodily pains, constipation, high-blood pressure, general fatigue and even heart failure. We should take it seriously.
How can we monitor our water drinking levels?
Feeling thirsty or having dry mouth is not a good indicator of dehydration! Thirst develops after your cells are already depleted below optimal functioning levels.
It’s best to check our urine color. A well hydrated body produces clear, colorless urine. A partially dehydrated body produces yellow urine. And a severely dehydrated body produces orange or dark colored urine.
Sodas, teas, and coffees contain water but these are not great ways to replenish the fluids we need.
For a healthy lifestyle make sure to mix in a proper amount of natural water. Stay hydrated everyone!
